Dhaka – Abrar Nur Arnab, a Class-VII student of Jhenidah Govt Boys’ High School, has developed and launched a Facebook-like social networking site, posttouch.com.However, the achievement of the little boy has earned anxiety for his family as the hackers, online miscreants, are running after the schoolboy. The hackers, meanwhile, have hacked his social networking site several times but the boy did not give in to them as he has successfully recovered his site from their clutches.Later, the hackers chose another way to suppress Arnab. They are now continuously giving life threat to him and his family members through short message service (SMS) over the mobile phone of his father. The threat to life has apparently confined the family members to their house as Arnab has already stopped attending his classes and his family members do not move outside.Abdul Alim, Arnab’s father and an official of Islamic University (IU), said his son began using computer when he was a Class-V student. “Within a very short time, he learned about designing and developing webpage.””On December 16 last year, my son started working on developing a new social networking site like Facebook and he gained success on April 18 last. He then bought a domain named ‘posttouch.com’ and finally launched it,” said Alim.Meanwhile, some 64 persons have so far joined the new social networking site, he said, adding that Arnab did not keep himself limited only to making the website; he has also developed a mobile app named ‘Posttouch’.”But my son’s success made the online hackers jealous and they hacked his social networking site on May 22 but Arnab managed to take control of his site again,” Alim continued.Later, the hackers pushed SQL injection, currently the most common form of website attack, to the site and destroyed all of its data and information. But the little boy did not lose his heart; he managed to recover all his damaged data and launched it again successfully.”Following the incident, the hackers are now giving life threat to Arnab and my family members through SMS over my mobile phone,” claimed Alim.Officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station Emdadul Haque Sheikh said Arnab’s father filed a general diary (GD) over the incident.”Law enforcers are looking into the matter and proper steps will be taken after investigation,” the OC added.Contacted, Jhenidah Deputy Commissioner Jakir Hossain said the district administration has already taken security measures for Arnab and his family members. “I’m also maintaining personal contact with them,” he added. While talking to this correspondent during his visit to their Beparipara residence in the district town, Alim said, “We feel very insecure following the repeated death threats to my family members by unnamed people.”He demanded immediate arrest and punishment of those responsible for this.UNB news agency
