Jhenidah Bnp office set afire with petrol, burnt

Unidentified miscreants on Thursday set the district unit office of the opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) on fire. Chair, table, fan and other belongings in the office were damaged in the fire. The District BNP has blamed ruling Awami league for the attack.
Jhenidah police assistant superintendent (Sadar circle) Gopinath Kanzilal said, a group of unknown miscreants at about 12.00 O’clock of Thursday set the district unit office of the BNP at KP Bosu Road in the town, on fire with petroleum goods. The furnishers in the office were completely burnt in the fire.ASP said, the miscreants fled away immediately after the fire incident. Local people rushed the spot and managed to control the fire with water supplied locally, immediately before arrival of the fire fighters there. Legal steps will be taken against the miscreants after investigation, ASP said.
BNP Khulna Division organising secretary, also district unit president and ex-law maker Mashiur Rahman condemned the burning of the Jhenidah BNP office. He blamed the ruling Awami League for the misdeed.
Jhenidah district unit secretary of the ruling AL Advocate Azizur Rahman rejected allegation of the BNP and said neither AL nor its front organisations were involved in the incident.
