Journalists of Dhaka University on Tuesday boycott a programme of ‘World Mental Health Day 2015’ over bad comments about the journalists who went there to cover the programme.Dhaka University Psychology department, Bangladesh Pshycology Society and Nasirullah Psychotherapy Unit jointly organized the programme at DU business faculty.

In this regard Dhaka University Journalists Association organizing Secretary Ektiaer Uddin Sagor said that Khaled Saifullah of the daily Sangbad went to cover the programme but receptionists of the programme asked him where he comes from.

When he (khaled) introduced himself as a journalist they again asked him to give his visiting card. Then Khaled said that “I have my identification card (ID) but no visiting card.

People in front of the desk said that without visiting card no one is allowed at the programme and when he was coming back they said (receptionists) that “it is lunch time that is why all journalists have started coming”.

Hearing this Khaled immediately told the matter to the Psychology department chairman Prof. SM Abul Kamal Azad and the other Journalists.

Then some of the Journalists of DU went there at 3 pm and demanded solution of the incident but the authority said that they are unable to solve this.
As a result Journalists of DU boycott the programme.
