A bill, tilted ‘Bangladesh Journalists Welfare Trust Bill, 2014’, was placed in Parliament on Wednesday, aiming to provide support to ailing, insolvent and injured journalists. Information Minister Hasanul Huq Inu placed the bill in the House that was sent to the relevant parliamentary standing committee for further scrutiny. The committee was asked to submit its report within 15 days. According to the bill, there will be a 13-member trusty board headed by the information minister. The tenure of the board will be of three years. – UNB
