Savar, Dhaka – The Institute of Remote Sensing (IRS) of Jahangirangar University (JU) is going to organize an international conference on ‘Geospatial Applications in Disaster Management’ on AprilApril 3 at JU Senate hall here on the campus.The director of JU IRS, Dr. Sheikh Tawhidul Islam, disclosed the conference through a press conference at Jahangirangar University Journalists’ Association (JUJA) office yesterday.
The day-long conference will focus on the talks about geospatial applications in assessing disaster and climate change impacts and its solutions, where a total of 7 noted speakers along with 4 internationals are expected to address the program.
The open access conference will feature two sessions while Chairman of Parliamentary Standing Committee under the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Dr. Md. Hasan Mahmud and Member of Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC), Prof. Dr. Sharif Enamul Kabir will attend as chief guest at first and second sessions respectively.
Meanwhile, JU VC Prof. Dr. Farzana Islam will attend the conference as the Guest of Honor while the Director of IRS, Dr. Sheikh Tawhidul Islam will be in the chair.
Teachers, students and officials of the university will participate in the conference.
