Savar (Dhaka), The Jahangirnagar University (JU) became champion in an ‘Inter University Debate Championship’ winning over Dhaka University (DU).Bangladesh Debate Federation (BDF), in association with Refugee and Migratory Movements Research Unit (RMMRU), organized the competition at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC).
A notice, issued by Faysal Mahmud Shanto, General Secretary of Jahangirnagar University Debate Organization (JUDO) on Friday, confirmed the matter.
“JUDO-Shongshaptak”, a team from Jahangirnagar University, vied for the notion of ‘Only Institutionalizing the Brokers’ Service Can Abolish Corruption in Migration System’ while “Aparajeyo Bangla” from the University of Dhaka debated against.
Nurul Islam, Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister as the chief guest, gave away the awards to the winners after the contest ends while State Minister to the Ministry of Foreign affairs Shahriar Alam was present as the special guest.
JUDO-Shongshaptak comprised of Musfiq Us Salehin, a 42 nd batch student of Economics dpt; Md. Shohanur Rahman, a 43 rd batch student of Philosophy dept and Minhaz Rabby, a 43 rd batch student of Institute of Business Administration (IBA).
Meanwhile, Md. Shohanur Rahman secured the ‘Best Debater Award’ in the final round of the competition. – JU Correspondent
