The body of a local leader of Jubo Dal, BNP’s associate body for youths, was recovered from Polashbari union parishad area in sadar upazila of the district on Saturday.
The deceased is Golam Rabbani, 37, president of Polashbari union unit Jubo Dal.Police said locals spotted Rabbani’s body lying buried under soil
behind the union parishad building and informed police.The body with the throat slit was sent to the district hospital morgue for an autopsy.Rabbani was main accused in a case filed for attacking motorcade of Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor (then ruling Awami League MP).In Ramganj on December 14, local activists of BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami conducted an attack that left a total of nine people, including three Bangladesh Chhatra League activists, killed and 47 others injured. -UNB, Nilphamari
