Unidentified miscreants shot dead a local Jubo Dal activist in Sadar upazila on Monday evening.
The deceased was identified as Babar Hossain, an activist of the BNP’s youth wing and son of Tofail Ahmed of Sonapur village in the upazila.Locals said the criminals opened fire on Babar in Makardhos area around 6:30pm, leaving him dead on the spot.
Being informed, police recovered the body and sent it to Laxmipur Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
Meanwhile, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station M Iqbal Hossain said they were yet to ascertain the motive behind the murder.
Babar was killed over political dispute, alleged his family. – UNB
