JUTA observe work-abstention

The Jahangirnagar University Teacher’s Association (JUTA) observed work abstention and formed sit-in programme on Monday from 11:00am to 1:00 pm protesting devalues of postponed national 8th pay scale here the campus.
Bangladesh University Teachers Association Federation called the programme of tall university, at the ground of New Arts Faculty Building. More than 100 teachers of various departments of JU took part on the sit-in programme demanding to cancellation of the 8th pay scale and generate a new pay scale.President of JU Teachers’ Association Prof Khabir Uddin said, the authority should make different pay scale within June 30, otherwise they will declare tough movement.
Associate Prof of Archeology department Mizanur Rahman said Teachers are the main assets of a nation so it is a conspiracy against the whole nation.
JUTA Secretary Prof Mafruhi Sattar, Dean of Arts Faculty Prof Syed Kamrul Ahsan, Chairman of History department Prof A T M Atikur Rahman, Chairman of Mathematics department Prof Abdur Rab, Prof Shamsul Islam of Environmental Sciences department, Prof Shahedur Rashid of Geography and Environment department, Prof Nazibur Rahman of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology department addressed the programme among others.
