Khaleda asked not to celebrate birth day in Aug 15

The ruling Awami League leaders yesterday urged the BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia not to observe her ‘fake birth anniversary’ on the August 15, assassination day of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
They also called upon the all political parties to observe the death anniversary of Bangabandhu collectively in a bid to uphold his ideology to make the country sonarbangla.  They were addressing in separate programmes in the city.Speaking at a discussion AL advisory council member Suranjit Sengupta said if the BNP extends cooperation to observe the death anniversary of Bangabandhu, the founder of the country, politics of consensus would go one step forward here.
“We will go one step forward in the journey of parliamentary democracy in the country, if Khaleda Zia extends her cooperation in observing Bangabandhu’s death anniversary instead of not observing her false birthday on August 15,” he said.
He was addressing a discussion on the country’s prevailing politics organized by Nouka Samarthak Goshthi at the auditorium of the Institution of Diploma Engineers.
Referring to the ongoing countrywide road accident, the AL senior leader observed that the government and the members of law enforcing agencies cannot avoid their responsibility for such continues road accident.
“Death of 29 people in a day is not acceptable under any circumstance and the government and the members of law enforcing agencies cannot avoid their responsibility for such accidents,” he said.
In a separate programme AL publicity and publication affairs secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud also called upon the BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia not to celebrate her birthday on the National Mourning Day on August 15.
He alleged that BNP chief Khaleda Zia deliberately celebrates her birth anniversary on August 15, the day of assassination of Bangabandhu. “We hope, you will refrain from doing such terrible activity from this year seeking apology to the nation for what you have done over the years,” he added.
He came up with the statement at a discussion on “Bangladesh, a middle income country and Jananetri (people’s leader) Sheikh Hasina” at the auditorium of Shilpakala Academy.
He said that Bangladesh has been marching towards a developed state under the capable and astute leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. – Staff Reporter
