BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia yesterday called upon the freedom fighters to turn around once again to protect the country and its people.
“Bangladesh is now turned into a chained country. We have to get united to free the country and its people,” she said while exchanging views with freedom fighters after unveiling the cover of a book at her Gulshan office in the afternoon.Terming the BNP as a party of real freedom fighters, the former premier said the freedom fighters freed the country for economic emancipation and to remove social indiscrimination but the country has been chained.
She suggested the freedom fighters to organize conferences across the country and assured them to assist them.
Jatiyatabadi Muktijoddah Dal published the book while Syed Nazmul Ahsan edited it.
BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, vice chairman Shamser Mobin Chowdhury, Abdus Salam, Maj Gen (Retd0 Syed Mohammad Ibrahim and Ismail Hossain Bengal, among others, were present on the occasion. – Staff Reporter
