Dhaka – BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia distributed food and clothes among the destitute at the city’s 14 spots for the second day on Wednesday, marking the 36th death anniversary of party founder and her husband Ziaur Rahman.
She started the charity service in front of a community centre at Mohakhali around 11:15am.
Later, the BNP chief distributed food and clothes at other spots in the city’s Badda, Khilkhet, FDC gate, Mirpur, Pallabi, Kazipara, Uttar and Rampura areas.
BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, vice chairman Abdullah Al Noman, Dhaka south city unit BNP president Habib-un-Nabi Khan Sohel, Dhaka north city unit BNP vice president Munshi Bazlul Basit Anju and its general secretary Ahsanullah Hasan were, among others, present.
Earlier on Tuesday, the BNP chief distributed food at 24 spots of the city. On May 30, 1981, Zia was assassinated by a group of army officers at Chittagong Circuit House. -UNB
