Khaleda might be lost from politics: Hasina

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday warned Khaleda Zia that she would not succeed to topple the government by killing people; rather she would be lost from politics.“Let me make this clear. Stop this game of overthrowing government by killing people. You can’t do this; rather you’ll be lost from
politics,” she said while addressing a mammoth rally at Mawa Golchattar.
The rally was organized by Lauhajang Awami League with its president Fakir Mohammad Abdul Hamid Hamid in the chair.
Hasina said that the opposition leader had thrown a 48-hour ultimatum, threatening that after the 48 hours the government will
not find a way to flee. “I want to ask her from where she had got the power to throw such challenge the government.”
She also said that the opposition wanted to topple the government to save the war criminals.
Terming the opposition leader as a person who lost her way, the Prime Minister said she does not want to throw any ultimatum to anyone.
“You are doing politics… you’ll have to obey the democratic norms.” She alleged that the opposition leader had invited Hefajat-e-Islam, provided arms to Jamaat-e-Islami men and her party cadres to kill innocent people for ousting the government.
Asking the opposition leader to remain in the path of democracy,
Hasina said: “Otherwise, you’ll lose the soil from under your feet.
You can’t imagine where you will slip down.”
She, however, thanked opposition leader Khaleda Zia for giving her party’s candidate in the upcoming city corporation elections. “Let me thank you as you have come to the path of democracy,” she added.
