Awami League leader Mohammad Nasim has asked Khaleda Zia, the Leader
of the Opposition, to resign from her post.
He said this on Tuesday, a day after the BNP demanded the Prime
Minister’s resignation as a step to solving the current crisis over
the formation of a non-party government.
“The Leader of the Opposition has enjoyed all the benefits of
Parliament but attended the sessions only for a few days. She should
resign for ignoring parliament,” Nasim said.
The ministers submitted their resignation letters to the Prime
Minister on Monday to kick start the formation of an all-party interim
government to conduct polls.
BNP Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi had said on Monday the
nation was waiting for the Prime Minister’s resignation.
