Lawyers community under the banner of Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Forum will hold a rally at Supreme Court premises at 10:00am on Saturday protesting the increasing incidents of killing, enforced disappearance and abduction across the country.
Lawyers from across the country will take part in the rally.BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia is scheduled to address the rally as the chief guest. Senior lawyers’ leaders will also address the rally on violation of human rights and growing incidents of killing, enforced disappearance and abduction.
Meanwhile, Minister for Food Quamrul Islam told a private TV channel that the government would not give permission to hold rally at Supreme Court premises as law and order could deteriorate due to presence of Khaleda Zia.
President of Supreme Court Bar Association Advocate Khandaker Mahbub Hossain, however, said that it would be a indoor meeting which require no permission.
“It will be illegal if any one tries to prevent us from holding the rally. And they will have to face its consequence,” he added. – Staff Reporter
