Khaleda’s office staff cooking their own food

As the law enforcers continued restricting food supply to BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia’s Gulshan office for the third consecutive day, party leaders and office staff on Friday started cooking food on their own inside it for themselves.
They took the initiative after police turned away a van carrying 120 lunch packets and fresh water for them around 1:20pm as the law enforcers did for the three days. The law forcers, however, are not preventing the relatives of Khaleda from supplying cooked food for her.
Police also did not block cooked food brought from the house of BNP vice-chairman Selima Rahman on Friday afternoon who has been accompanying Khaleda at the office since January 3.
BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia has been staying in the office along with nearly 50 people, including some BNP leaders, office staff and her personal security personnel.
The party’s designated leaders have been sending breakfast, lunch and dinner from different restaurants since January 3 for the BNP leaders and office staff and Khaleda’s security personnel staying in the office.
Some police officials from the special branch have remained deployed in front of the main gate of the office who are not allowing anyone, even journalists, to enter the office.
Asked as to why they are not allowing food to the office, the police officials said they were instructed by the high officials not to allow any kind of food supply to the office. – UNB
