Dhaka, May 25 – A local BNP leader was shot to death by miscreants at Damodar in Phultala upazila of Khulna on Thursday night.The deceased is Alauddin Mihtu, 45, organising secretary of district BNP.
Officer-in-charge (Investigation) of Phultala Police Station Hawlader Sanwar Hossain Masum said a gang of five miscreants in two motorcycles swooped on Mithu at his business establishment, Mithu Enterprise, in front of his house around 10pm.
They opened fire on the BNP leader, leaving him dead on the spot, he said.
On information, police rushed in to recover the body, the police office told UNB from the spot around 11:40pm.
