Holy Lailatul Qadr, the night of divine blessings and benediction, has been observed across the country on Monday night with due solemnity and religious fervour. The holy Quran was revealed to Prophet Hazrat Mohammad (pbuh) on this exalted night to show mankind the path of worldly and eternal emancipation.
Muslim devotees are spending the night seeking divine blessings for peace and progress of the country and the Muslim Ummah.
They are passing the night offering special prayers, recitation from the holy Quran, holding milad mahfil, zikr, and other religious rituals.
A special munajat and waz mahfil arranged by Islamic Foundation was held at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque on the holy night.
Different television channels and radios are airing special programmes and newspapers will publish special supplements highlighting the significance of the night.
President Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Leader of the Opposition Khaleda Zia on Sunday greeted the countrymen and the Muslims across the world on the eve of holy Lailatul Qadr.
In separate messages, they prayed for continued peace, progress and prosperity of the country and the Muslim ummah. – UNB
