Law minister hints at political dialogue after upazila polls

Law Minister Anisul Haq on Tuesday said the government favours dialogue with the political parties to boost the democratic process .  The possibility of a dialogue will increase after the on-going upazila polls, the minister told the Canadian High Commissioner Heather Cruden when she called on him at his Secretariat office. Briefing reporters Anisul Haq said the Canadian envoy has stressed the need for a fresh dialogue to resolve the existing political crisis.   The minister noted that the Heather Cruden has strongly criticised the pre- and post-election violence in the country.   There is no alternative to dialogue to sustain the democratic process in the country, he added.   The Canadian envoy told the minister they don’t want to see a repeat of the  political violence. – UNB
