Lawyers of war crimes convict Jamaat-e-Islami leader Ali Ahsan Muhammad Mojaheed is scheduled to meet him at Dhaka Central Jail on Saturday Morning.
A 5-member lawyers’ team led by Shisir Monir has given a schedule to go to the jail gate at about 11:00 am, said Advocate Shisir Monir.Other members of the lawyers’ team are Moshiul Alam, Kamal Uddin, Najibur Rahman and Matiur Rahman Akand, he added.
The Supreme Court on Wednesday upheld the death penalty of Jamaat leader Ali Ahsan Muhammad Mojaheed, which had earlier been awarded by the International Crimes Tribunal-2.
The International Crimes Tribunal-2 on July 17, 2013, awarded Ali Ahsan Muhammad Mojaheed death penalty for committing crimes against humanity during the Liberation War.
The charges included murder of intellectuals, genocide, abduction and persecution.
On August 11, 2013, condemned prisoner Mojaheed filed an appeal with the Appellate Division against his capital punishment in the case for crimes against humanity during the 1971 Liberation War. – News Desk
