Dhaka, 01 Feb – Allegations of question paper leakage on the first day of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination arose on Thursday when ‘leaked questions’ were allegedly found on the social media Facebook before the examination started.Ministry of education sources said they are looking into the matter and take necessary measures in this regard.
Earlier education minister while visiting an examination centre Dhanmondi Government Laboratory High School told the journalists that the examinations would be cancelled immediately if any proof of leaked question papers is found. He also said none would be spared if question papers are leaked.
In reply to a query that the questions have been leaked before examination, the minister rejected the allegations and said “A false copy of the questions has been uploaded on the Facebook.”
“We have done whatever is possible to keep the examinations safe from question paper leak. None will be spared and stern action would be taken,” he added.
After the examinations when the matter was brought before a senior officer of the education ministry that a similarity has been found between the leaked question of SSC Bangla paper before exams and the question given to the examinees.
“We are looking into the matter seriously,” additional secretary (Govt. Secondary) of Secondary and Higher Education Division Chowdhury Mufad Ahmed said yesterday.
Earlier, education minister told the journalists that the examinations would be cancelled if any proof is found of question paper leakage before and after the examinations.
This year the SSC and equivalent examinations are being held under the uniform questions across the country.
Around 20 lakh examinees took part in SSC and equivalent examinations. However, on the first day a total of 9,742 examinees were absent and 26 were expelled, the education ministry control room sources said.
On the other hand, this year the examinees were instructed to enter into the respective examination halls before half and hour but many guardians expressed their grievance for such government decision. The guardians said it cannot be any rule because it is creating sufferings. – Staff Reporter
