We would like to invite you to the premiere of Drik (Bengal Muslin)’s documentary film on muslin, ‘Legend of the Loom’, the legendary fabric of Bengal. The film was produced in partnership with the Bangladesh National Museum and Aarong. It takes the audience on a journey from the riverbanks of Bangladesh, the techniques practised creating the finest and most sought after fabric in the world, its impact on the world of fashion and trade, and its current status.
It is the culmination of a three-year project during which we have also published a book (Muslin. Our Story), produced a cultural show and woven fine saris using muslin’s methods and motifs.
