Lighterage ship sinks in Bay of Bengal

A lighrerage vessel carrying iron scraps sank at the outer anchorage of the Chittagong port on Saturday.

Chattogram Port Authority secretary Omar Faruk said when the vessel named ‘Char Shamayl’ was returning to the port after unloading goods from a mother vessel it sank being hit by another vessel around 12:15 pm. However, all the crew of the vessel were rescued by local people.
