Police arrested listed top terror Fazle Rabbi, 30, accused in 22 criminal cases, including three murder cases, in injured condition from Rampura area here early today, police sources said.Acting on a tip off, a special police team led by Inspector Hossain Ali of Kotwali Thana conducted a raid in the area and caught him.But, Rabbi suddenly attacked and sank his teeth into Thumb finger in the right hand of the police officer injuring the finger seriously.Police, in self-defense, also had to take counter measures when Rabbi was injured and fell down on the ground having injuries at his legs.Police immediately arrested Rabbi, son of late Rafiqul Islam of Dhap Pasharipara area in the city, from the spot.Police later admitted rabbi to Rangpur Medical College Hospital (RMCH) where he has been undergoing treatment under police custody now.The injured SI Hossain Ali also took treatment at the RMCH.The people of Dhap Pasharipara, Khalifapara, Kotkipara, Lalkuthi, Dhap, R K Road and other areas of the city got relieved of Rabbi’s terrorism and expressed satisfaction as soon as they knew the news of his arrest.Rabbi is prime accused of sensational Milan, Bullet and a night guard murder cases in addition to 19 other criminal cases including mugging, dacoity, robbery, drug and other criminal cases pending with Kotwali police station.“We had been trying to arrest Rabbi as he created a reign of terror and crimes in different areas of the city for a long,” Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kotwali Thana Abdul Kader Zilani said tonight.BSS, Rangpur
