Mohila Dal vice president Dr Nurjahan Mahbub said this while taking to reporters after a team of the organisation led by her called on Khaleda Zia at her Gulshan party office.
Nurjahan quoted Khaleda Zia as saying, “The movement to protect and restore democracy and right of vote is on and will continue. The street agitation will continue till the government quits.”The delegation entered the BNP chairperson’s office, where remains confined by law enforcers since January 3, at about 12:35pm. Meanwhile, BNP joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed yesterday accused the government of engaging secret assassins in every locality in a bid to kill opposition leaders and activists.
“Being pressured by the intensified movement of the people, they have formed committees comprising suicidal secret forces to give last bite on the opposition. Eminent diplomat and former state minister Reaz Rahman has become the victim of the conspiracy,” he said in a statement yesterday.
The BNP leader alleged that the present government reached the peack of misrule of BAKSAL in the second phase.
“They (government) are engaged in bloodbath across the country to cling to power,” he added.
He called upon the people to make the 20-party hartal that begins at 6:00am Thursday a success.
The BNP leader reiterated that the countrywide blockade programme will continue until the victory of people is achieved. – Staff Reporter
