A man was chopped to death by unknown miscreants at Joyrampur village in Damurhuda upazila early Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Amjad Hossain, 45, son of late Samad Ali, a resident of the village.Police said a group of unknown miscreants numbering 5/6 chopped Amjad, father of two children, with sharp weapons indiscriminately at about 4:00 am when he along with his wife and children was sleeping at a veranda leaving him dead on the spot.On information, police recovered the body in the morning and sent it to hospital morgue for an autopsy.Shikdar Mashiur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Damurhuda Model Police Station, said Amjad might have been killed over previous enmity.The OC also said they were trying to arrest the killers. -UNB, Chuadanga
