A man was chopped to death allegedly by his cousin over a land dispute at Char Sifli village in Sadar upazila on Wednesday morning.The deceased was identified as Jasim, resident of the village.Officer-in-charge of Bhola Sadar Police Station Mahabubur Rahman said there had been a longstanding dispute between Jasim and his cousin Hasan Meer over ownership of a piece of land.Trouble ensued following an altercation over the same issue in the morning, added the OC.At one stage, Hasan chopped Jasim with sharp weapon indiscriminately at about 7:30am, leaving him dead on the spot.On information, police recovered the body and arrested Hasan and his son Sabuj from the spot.Hasan confessed to police that he had killed Jasim. -UNB, Bhola
