A man was killed by a gang of muggers at Battala in Sadar upazila on Monday night.
The deceased was identified as Kamrul Islam, 35, son of Ahmed Ullah of Dholhara village of the upazila.
MA Hashem Khan, officer-in-charge of Sadar police station, said a gang of muggers waylaid Kamal in the area, snatched his belongings and hacked him when he was returning to his house from the upazila headquarters around 10pm, leaving him dead on the spot. On information, police recovered the body on Tuesday morning and sent it to Sadar hospital morgue for an autopsy. -UNB, Magura
