Police here on Friday morning recovered the body of a middle-aged man from a pond at Sholapur village in Nagarkanda upazila.
The deceased was identified as Ismail Molla, 50, a local cattle trader and son of late Maula Molla of Nayakanda village in Sadarpur upazila of the district.
Abul Kalam Azad, sub-inspector of Nagarkanda Police Station, said Ismail had gone missing after he went to Mansurabad cattle market on Thursday afternoon.Later, locals spotted the body of Ismail in the pond and informed police at around 10:00am on Friday.Police recovered the body and sent it to Faridpur Medical College Hospital for autopsy.Police suspected that miscreants might have snatched money from Ismail and strangulated him to death at some time on Thursday night. -UNB, Faridpur
