Maritime ports asked to hoist signal no 2

Dhaka – Maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to hoist distant warning signal no two as the deep depression over the south-east bay and adjoining area moved northwestward and rapidly turned into cyclonic storm ‘Nada’ over southwest bay and adjoining southeast bay. UNB news agency reported
It was centered on Wednesday noon about 1715 kms south-southwest of Chittagong port, 1645 kms south-southwest of Cox’s Bazar port, 1655 kms south-southwest of Mongla port and 1630 kms south-southwest of Payra port, said a Met office special bulletin.
It is likely to intensify further and move in a west-northwesterly direction.
Maximum sustained wind speed within 54 kms of the cyclone centre is about 62 kph rising to 88 kph in gusts/squalls. Sea will remain very rough near the cyclone centre.
All fishing boats and trawlers over north bay and deep sea have been advised not to venture into the deep sea and proceed with caution till further notice.
