A market for the women was opened at Kalirbazaar under Fulchhari upazila of the district recently to enhance the access of the women to the market.SKS Foundation, a local reputed NGO, constructed the market in the area in technical support of Action Aid Bangladesh with the financial assistance of European Union, sources said.The objective of the market construction is to create market friendly environment for the women entrepreneurs so that they could sell their produced items and buy the essential commodities smoothly and without any hesitation.To motivate the women to engage themselves in income generating activities in a bid to be self reliant socially and economically and help empower the women folk is another objective of the market construction.UNO Mostafizur Rahman formally inaugurated the market amid much enthusiasm to the women. -BSS, Gaibandha
