A man was stabbed to death by unknown miscreants at Char Parbati in Companiganj upazila on Saturday.
Identified as Imam Hossain, 24, son of Israfil of the area, the victim was a mason by profession.
Witnesses said a gang of unknown miscreants swooped on Imam and stabbed him indiscriminately when he was returning home from a tea stall of the area around 7.00pm.
Locals rushed him to Companiganj Upazila Health Complex where doctors pronounced him dead.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Noakhali Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Police said the reason behind the murder could not be known immediately.
Police later picked up four people from the area for quizzing. – UNB
