Agriculture minister Matia Choudhury said on the occasion of Agriculturist day 2014 at Agriculturists Institution hall in the capital “we have come to power through an election and so we do not fear anybody’s piercing look”. We really do appreciate her courage. But was it an election? When Prime minister Sheikh Hasina, President Abdul Hamid along with more than fifty percent of the people from the existing voter list had no right to cast his/her vote in 153 constituencies while the rest of the constituencies had had no contestants from the main opposition parties.
On the other hand, we hear little voice from Matia or other ministers about helping the potato farmers when they are drawing attention to their plight everyday by blocking roads and spreading potatoes on those.
