Matia finds some envoys adding fuel to BNP’s polls demand

Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury on Thursday alleged that some foreign envoys are adding fuel to the BNP’s demand for fresh parliamentary polls.
She also said the countries the emissaries represent had not been very much in favour of Bangladesh during the Liberation War.
The minister was addressing the triennial conference of Gazipur city unit of Krishak League at Bangataj Auditorium in the city.Observing that the next parliamentary polls will be held in 2019, Matia said it is now up to BNP whether it will participate in that election or not.
Zahid Ahsan Russell MP, zilla parishad administrator Akteruzzaman and Krishak League president Motahar Hossain Mollah, among others, spoke at the conference.
Later, new committee of the city unit of the ruling party’s farmer wing was formed with Gazipur City Corporation councillor Helal Uddin as its president and Abdul Quadir Mondal as general secretary. – UNB
