Militants Snatching: Security beefed up across the country

Security has been beefed up across the country on Monday a day after gunmen ambushed a police van freeing three convicted militants on way to a court in Mymensingh and leaving one policeman killed.
One of the militants was killed in a gunfight with security forces on Monday, a day after his recapture.
The militants, two of them condemned to death and one serving life term, belonged to outlawed militant group, Jamaa’t-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh.
Border Guard Bangladesh members have been kept on high alert along the borders and additional 250 BGB members have been deployed following the incident.26 BGB commanding officer Lt Col Motiur Rahman said tight security measures have been taken so none can flee through the border at night.
In Sylhet, law enforcers have taken tight security measures across the division as per the direction of the Home Ministry following the militants snatching incident.
Sylhet range additional DIG M Sakhawat Hossain said  police have been kept on high alert in Sylhet, Moulvibazar, Sunamganj and Habiganj districts.
Leave of all officials of  police administration have been cancelled and check posts have set up at different strategic points.
Meanwhile, our Gazipur correspondent adds:  Security has been strengthened at Kashimpur jail to keep watch on the 102 JMB militants in the jail.
Senior jail super Abdur Razzaq said the number of security guards has been increased at the jail gate and people are being allowed to enter after checking.
Earlier, on Sunday, militants snatched three convicted members of JMB — Rakib, Salahuddin and Boma Mizan — in Trishal upazila killing a police constable while they were being taken in a prison van from Kasimpur jail in Gazipur to Mymensingh court.
However, Rakib was captured hours later from Taktarchala in Sakhipur of Tangail district
Later he was killed in a ‘gunfight’ on Monday morning.
Meanwhile, The bounty for information leading to the arrest of each of the two convicted militants has been raised to Tk 5 lakh from 2 lakh. – UNB
