Mini Ranji: BCB XI take control against KSCA Secretary XI

Dhaka – Touring Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) XI will be taking a 155-run lead against Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) Secretary XI into day 3 of their third four-day match of the ongoing Dr (Capt) K Thimmappaiah Memorial Cricket Tournament, also known as Mini Ranji Trophy, after a good second day for the bowlers on Tuesday at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

In reply to BCB XI’s total of 334 in the first innings, KSCA Secretary XI, who trailed by 255 runs in the first innings, opened their 2nd innings on Tuesday afternoon and were already three down for 100 at stumps on the second day.

Naga Bharath and Abhinav Manohar remained unbeaten on 3and 37 runs respectively for the KSCA Secretary XI while Ebadot Hossain and Shohidul Islam claimed figures of 2/40 and 1 /36 respectively.

Resuming the 1st innings with overnight score of 135 for 3 in 44 overs, the touring BCB XI were all out for 334 in 102.3 overs on second day, riding on three half centuries Najmul Hossain Shanto (72 off 125 balls), Kazi Nurul Hossain (68 off 87 balls) and Shadman Islam (59 off 93).

On the other hand, Anand Doddamani took 4 wickets for 59 runs while K S Devaiah and Praveen Dubey bagged 2 wickets each conceding 64 and 55 runs respectively for KSCA Secretary XI.

Earlier on first day (Monday), after electing to field first, the BCB XI restricted the KSCA Secretary XI to only 79 runs in 41 overs in the first innings.

Shohidul Islam grabbed five wickets conceding 20 runs in 16 overs while Ebadot Hossain claimed 2 for 36 and Ariful Haque 3 for 22 for the Bangladeshi side.

Going into the game, BCB XI were in the 3rd position of the four-team Group B securing 4 points from two matches while the KSCA Secretary XI were 2nd with 5 points from two matches with one win and one defeat.UNB
