A minor boy was killed in a road accident at Rashidpur in Surma
upazila on Sunday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Ali Ahmed, 10, son of Abdul Bashar of
Rampur in Chhatak upazila of the district.
Witnesses said a Sylhet-bound bus of Unique Paribahan ran over Ali
Ahmed while he was crossing the Dhaka-Sylhet Highway in the area
around 4:30pm, leaving him dead on the spot.
Incensed at the accident, locals blocked the highway for about two hours.
Later, police rushed in and removed the road blockade.
Police seized the bus but its driver managed to flee the scene. -UNB, Sylhet
