Political stability and the rule of law are essential for investment that can fuel economic growth, former caretaker government adviser AB Mirza Azizul Islam said on Saturday.
“Investment will grow only when the political environment is peaceful,” he told a discussion on ‘Independence, Economic Emancipation and Rule of Law: the New Generation and the NRB’.The meeting was organised by Centre for Non Resident Bangladeshis (CNRB) at a city hotel.
The continuity of a policy is important in attracting investment, he said adding that non-resident Bangladeshis (NRBs) will feel encouraged to invest in the country if they find the environment favourable.
Chaired by CNRB chairman MS Sekil Chowdhury, the discussion was also addressed by Palli Karma-Shahayak Foundation (PKSF) chairman Quzi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad and former chairman of Bangladesh Krishi Bank Khondkar Ibrahim Khaled. – UNB
