Missing student’s body recovered from Cox’s Bazar Bay

Cox’s Bazar, Aug 10 (UNB) – The body of one of two missing students was recovered from the Bay on Saturday afternoon.

He was identified as Rafique Mahmud, 23, a former student of Cox’s Bazar Government College and was taking preparation to go abroad for higher studies.

Rafique along with his three friends was washed away when they were bathing at Laboni point sea beach around 11am on Saturday. Of them, two were rescued instantly, said Makhan Chandra Sutra Dhar, Executive Magistrate of Cox’s Bazar Deputy Commissioner’s office.

Later, divers of Fire Service spotted Rafique’s floating body in the sea at 5pm. They recovered the body and took it to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital where doctors declared him dead.

District Administration, Fire Service and Tourist Police are conducting operation to rescue another missing student Ariful Islam, a student of Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology, said the magistrate.
