Police arrested mother and son in Natirhut under Nazirpur union of Muladi for killing one and injuring 3 others by chopping for damaging pepper (Morich/Green Chilly) cultivation.Alauddin Ahmed, Muladi police station officer in charge, said the dead victim was identified as Saidul Sheikh, 31, son of late Kuddus Sheikh and father of three children.The injured three were Rasul Sheikh, 35, Nuruzzaman, 28, and Makbul Sheikh, 80,.Saidul died on way to Barisal Sher E Bangla Medical College Hospital on Saturday night and among the 3 injured, Rasul Sheikh admitted at SBMCH in critical condition and 2 others at Muladi upazila health complex. Police arrested Abu Saleh, son of Emdadul Huq and a student of Dhaka Titumir College and his mother Kulsum Begum after a murder case was lodged on early Sunday by Farzana Aktar, wife of the killed victim, said OC Muladi PS. Dead body of the killed victim sent to Barisal SBMCH morgue for autopsy on Sunday morning and the arrested two sent to jail after producing before the court on Sunday afternoon, police sources said.Mojibur Rahman Sharif, chairman Nazirpur union parishad, said the incident was happened on a petty matter of damaging pepper-cultivation by goats.The UP chairman and police sources said pepper cultivation of Emdadul Huq was damaged by the goats of neighbouring Sheikh Family in recent days and an arbitration meeting was called on this. But family members of Emdad denied compromising the matter through arbitration and absenting in the meeting.On Saturday night both sides engaged in quarrel over this issue and at one point Abu Saleh, son of Emdad, collecting sharp weapon from home started chopping rivals.
