Robbers looted valuables worth Tk12 lakh from a house at Bhujbal village in Sadar upazila of Moulvibazar district early Saturday.
Owner of the house Shrikanta Dhar said a gang of armed robbers, numbering 10 to 12, stormed his house at about 4:00 am by breaking open the door and held the house inmates hostage at gunpoint.They looted 18 tolas of gold ornaments, cash Tk1.05 lakh, three mobile phone sets and other valuables worth Tk12 lakh.Later, the hoodlums escaped with the booty.On information, police visited the spot.Abdus Salek, officer-in-charge of Moulvibazar Model Police Station, confirmed the incident.A case was filed in this connection.Mentionable, Shrikanta Dhar is assistant private secretary of Social Welfare Minister Enamul Hoque Mostofa Shaheed. -UNB, Sylhet
