Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) in a drive arrested an alleged
mugger on the Dhaka-Chittagong Highway in Rampura Rastar Matha area of
the town on Friday night.
The arrestee was identified as Pavel,35.
Police sources said a team of Rab, led by Additional Superintendent of
Police Jasim Uddin, arrested Pavel when a gang numbering 8 to 10 was
trying to snatch belongings from a man in the area around 5:30pm.
The team also recovered a foreign made pistol and four rounds of
bullet from his possession, added the police sources.
The arrestee was later handed over to the police.
Process was underway to lodge a case while filing this report. –UNB, Feni
