The Pir Shaheb of Charmonai, Mufti Syed Rezaul Karim has said that Finance Minister AMA Muhith has provoked corruption in the country by terming bribe as legal.
Addressing an Islami conference at the Meherpur Sadar college ground in Khulna Division he said that Allah has prohibited bribe because it promotes corruption in the society. The Finance Minister has said that bribe increases the speed of development. By saying so he has lost the qualifications of being a minister, the Pir Shaheb said.Mufti Rezaul Karim said that Bribery and corruption has accelerated decadence of the society. The prevailing indiscipline and lawlessness in the country is due to bribery that destroys society’s morals and the chain of command in the administration.
He said that there was no alternative to fresh and credible elections for a way out of the prevailing heated political situation in the country. There is no instance of credible elections under a party government in this country, the Pir Shaheb added. He said that the chain of command of the law enforcement network has broken down.- Press release
