Mushfiq hits 100* after Mominul

Dhaka – Bangladesh cricket team’s consistent batsman Mushfiqur Rahim followed centurion Mominul Haque hammering century 100* in the first innings of the second and final match of a series against visiting Zimbabwe on day one at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Sunday.Mushfiq completed his sixth Test century with a single run off Zimbabwean skipper Hamilton Masakadza in the third session when Bangladesh’s collection was at 252/3* in 75.1 overs. He fired eight boundaries to reach the day’s milestone.

Earlier in the 54.1 overs, Mominul hit a boundary off Sikandar Raza to reach 102* from 98 when Tigers were on batting with 181 for 3 in the second session of the first day. He fired 12 boundaries off 150 balls to complete the century mission.

Both centurions- Mushfiq [109* off 204b; 9×4] and Mushfiq [ 148* off 236b; 17×4 ] were continuing their record fourth partnership of 251* off 70.4 overs for Bangladesh with team collection of 2278/3* in 82 overs, starting their composures in the first session from 26/3 in 11.1 overs.

The 31-year old Mushfiq, an experienced batsman from Bogura, made his Test debut against England in May 2005 and played out so far 63 Tests for national side.
