Mustafizur set to join Dhaka League Monday

Dhaka – Bangladesh star Mustafizur Rahman is all set to join the ongoing season of Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League on Monday. He will represent Shinepukur Cricket Club in the league.

After returning from New Zealand, the southpaw was in rest in his home district of Shatkhira. In the meantime, he tied the knot with his cousin Samia Parvin Shimu who is a student of Dhaka University.

The left-handed pacer returned to Dhaka last week and started practice on Sunday at the National Cricket Academy at Mirpur. In his first appearance in the ongoing league, Shinepukur will face Gazi Group Cricketers on Monday at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.

“Before coming back to Dhaka, I trained at home as well. I bowled six overs on the trot today. Now, I’m waiting for playing in the league,” Mustafizur told reporters on Sunday.

In his last five ODIs, Mustafizur took six wickets. In two of those games, he returned with nothing. So, the Premier League can be a big opportunity for him to get back to his best form.

Mustafizur played a total of 43 ODIs till the date and scalped 77 wickets at a strike rate of 27.6 with the best figure of taking six wickets conceding 43 runs.

Mustafizur is considered as one of the best weapons of the Tigers for the upcoming World Cup which is scheduled to be played in England from May 30 to July 14.UNB
