Dhaka – Sylhet District made a flying start in the Chittagong phase of the 38th National Cricket Championship beating Narsingdi District by seven wickets in a curtailed 24 over-a-side match at the MA Aziz Stadium in the port city of Chittagong on Tuesday.Sent into bat first, Narsingdi DSA scored 102 for 8 in a delayed start match for wet outfield with Arman Abdullah scoring 30, Uday Bhuiyan 14, Zahirul Islam and Rajib Kumar 13 runs each.Sayem Alam and Rahatul Ferdous grabbed two wickets each conceding 14 and 27 runs respectively.Chasing a small target, Sylhet DSA scored the match-winning 103 runs for the loss of three wickets in 22.5 overs, featuring 61 runs in the opening stand by Moinul Hasan and Sayem Alam.Moinul Hasan contributed an unbeaten 48 runs off 64 balls, hitting one four and a six, Sayem Alam scored 47-ball 33 runs with three fours and one six while Ejaz Ahmed made 17-ball 14 runs with a boundary.Sujon Miah, Shafiul Islam and Khaled Bin Walid took one wicket each.Earlier on Monday, Munshiganj District made a good start beating Jamalpur DSA by 13 runs in opening match at the same venue.UNB news agency
