Nat’l science fest kicks off at JU on Thursday

Dhaka, 08 Feb – The 2nd National Science Fest-2018 started at Jahangirnagar University (JU) campus on Thursday.
Jahangirnagar University Science Club (JUSC) is arranging the 2 daylong program at the JU Zahir Raihan Auditorium.Shahriyar Kabir Shohag, president of the club, came up with the disclosure at a press meet in JUJA office of TSC yesterday.
Chief coordinator of the ‘Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)’ Abul Kalam Azad, as the chief guest, is expected to inaugurate the 1 st day sessions at about 9:00am while JU pro-VC Prof Amir Hussain and treasurer Prof Sheikh Monzurul Huq, as the specials guests.
The fest is featured with 3-stage events where a total of 30 schools, 20 colleges and 10 universities will participate.
Contestants from the universities will participate in poster presentation, project showcasing and quiz contest while the participants from the colleges and schools in quiz contest, idea contest, project presentation and robotics workshop.
Vice chancellor of the university Prof Dr. Farzana Islam, as the chief guest, will be present on the 2nd day of the fest while pro-VC Prof Dr. Abul Hossain and Dr. Farseem M Mohammedy, Prof from Bangladesh University Science and Technology (BUET) as the special guests. – JU Correspondent
