Nazim murder, accused on remand

A Dhaka court on Monday placed Mehedi Hasan alias Omi, an accused in Jagannath University student Nazim Uddin murder case on a three-day remand to quiz him in connection with the murder.Md Shahjahan, who is a Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Inspector and also the Investigation Officer of the case pleaded to the court for a ten-day of the accused Omi to interrogate him about the incident while Magistrate Raihanul Islam of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka granted remand for three days.
The remand plea says that accused Mehedi Hasan Omi hails from Amborkhana of Sylhet city while slain Nazim Uddin hailed from Tut Bharaut village of Bianibazar under Sylhet district. Earlier, he was graduated in law at a private university of Sylhet and later got himself admitted into the law department of Jagannath University. He used to give status against religion in Facebook, while he was in Sylhet. Several people followed Nazim Uddin there to kill him in 2010. The present accused is one of the suspects of the incident Nazim was killed by the suspects including Mehedi Hasan Omi.
