Dhaka- Barishal Division will need to score 159 runs in the second innings on fourth and final day for the victory against Rangpur Division in the fourth round Tier1 match of the National Cricket League (NCL) at Cricket Ground in Rangpur on Thursday.On Wednesday, having a 147-run in the first innings, Rangpur resumed the second innings with overnight score of 77/3 in 47 overs and finished at 229 for all in 104.5 overs as faced blows by Monir Hossain (5/24), Sohag Gazi(2/65) and Kamrul Islam Rabbi’s (2/35) wicket hauls in the innings.
Overnight Mahmudul Hasan (67 off 180b; 2×4) could manage his half century while another overnight batsman Sohrawordi Shuvo was out for 35 off 162 balls with two boundaries.
Dhiman Ghosh scored 31 and skipper Sajedul Islam added unbeaten 27* runs in the innings on the day.Having 147 runs in the first innings, Barishal opened the second innings and scored 41/3* in 15.5 overs, at stumps where Al Amin 11* and Shamsul Islam 4* were sharing the fourth partnership innings.
Robiul Haque (2/19) and Subashis Roy (1/11) were the wicket takers for the Rangpur.
