Thirteen compilers and editors of the newly-published textbooks said they were not notified and kept in the dark about the changes made in the books published by the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB).“Wrong public perception may emerge about the editors and compilers of the Bangla textbooks of classes I to X for 2017 published by the NCTB,” they said in a joint statement Wednesday.
The statement addressed to respective students, teachers, guardians and stated that the compilers and editors were unaware of the changes in the textbooks. The statement also reads that the editors were not informed of the changes or additions made to the content they had submitted during further compilations. .
The signatories of the statement included Professor Hayat Mahmud, Professor Niranjan Adhikari, Professor Mahbubul Haque, Professor Masuduzzaman, Professor Bishwajit Ghosh, Professor Syed Azizul Haque, Professor Shoaib Jibran, Professor Shafiul Alam, Professor Daniul Haque, Professor Shyamali Akbar, Professor Nurjahan Begum, Professor Rafiqullah Khan and Professor Soumitra Shekhar.
